A new milestone in the building of the attraction Frozen Ever After was set: the flume has been filled with water! Walt Disney Imagineering Paris leadership and ride teams came together for this special moment, continuing a tradition that Walt Disney himself began.
As Olaf memorably stated in Frozen II, “water has memory” – and Imagineers wholeheartedly believe it too!

In 2026, the highly anticipated immersive zone World of Frozen will open its gates to the guests at Disneyland® Paris. While the construction is still underway, the project teams at Walt Disney Imagineering Paris celebrated a new milestone of the future attraction Frozen Ever After: the introduction of water in the flume.
On this occasion, the Imagineers gathered to pour water from other attractions inspired by the animated movie Frozen across the world: Frozen Ever After in Epcot and in Hong Kong Disneyland, and Anna and Elsa’s Frozen Journey in Tokyo DisneySea; but also water from the fjords of Norway, the country that inspired the kingdom of Arendelle, was poured into the flume.
This tradition started with Walt Disney himself, when “it’s a small world” opened at Disneyland in 1966: he invited representatives from around the globe to pour water from local rivers and oceans — symbolizing the unity and storytelling of the attraction through water.
For Peyton Buhler, Principal Ride Project Engineer at Frozen Ever After, this is an essential tradition: “As Imagineers, we believe that water tells stories. Combining these waters into the flume is also symbolic of the collective effort on this project – how everyone here today and the entire project team have come together over many years to build this beautiful attraction here at Disneyland Paris.”
