Disney and sports go back a long way, and on 24 July 1994, Disneyland Paris became part of the history of the Tour de France by hosting the start of the 21st and final stage of the race, a 175km link between two legendary roads: Main Street, U.S.A and the Champs-Elysées. The stage was won by a Frenchman, Eddy Seigneur, something that hadn’t happened since Bernard Hinaut’s victory 12 years earlier!
For this historic event, Goofy dressed up as a cyclist and rode a four-seater tandem with his friends Pluto and Chip & Dale!
The Tour de France later returned to Disneyland Paris in July 1997 to mark the destination’s 5th anniversary.
